FABRICATION and art direction: I sculpted a series of ears from two materials: bars of ivory soap and clay, fired, and painted gold. I staged the objects throughout a bathroom and alongside a vintage telephone, transforming familiar domestic objects into surreal environments. the ears were designed to dissolve as a temporary substance, washed away, and also constructed as permanent objects with “valuable” gilding. photos and essay appear in hamam magazine issue no. 5 “STRANGE”.
