Art direction and installation: i conceived and built the ribbon facory as an immersive fictional workplace during an artist residency at Arts, letters, & numbers. i transformed the room into an absurdist factory office overtaken by ribbon. i designed the environment, sculptural elements, props, signage and fictional ephemera. the installation included a reception desk and rolodex of invented ribbon industry contacts visitors could inspect, viewing spectacles visitors could use to properly observe the factory products, and wire-and-ribbon sculpture figures emerging from carefully arranged ribbon piles on the factory office floor.
