art direction: the forest provides a fairytale setting where medieval imagery merges with 1970s psychedelia. the blue and pink costumes cast the figures as masculine and femine archetypes, evoking the alchemical union of opposites and the lovers tarot card. practical effects let a delirious, bewitching love magic cast its spell.

prop design and fabrication: to create the illusion of one flower growing rapidly, five sizes of Pink papier mache flowers were constructed and turned into stop motion. oversized goblets were assembled from found materials and gilded. papier mache crowns and flowers were constructed and painted for costume and set. all medieval typography was handwritten and photographed.
